Issue between hardware, need help!
Hey,
I am having hardware conflicts between the following sets of hardware / drivers:
Logitech USB Desktop Mic
+
Microsoft Accessories 1.1 with Xbox 360 Controller
Basically whenever I install the MS drivers for the controller to work I get loads of static on the mic and you can't hear what I'm saying. Even after uninstalling the 360 drivers the mic still wasn't working.
I reinstalled XP on a different partition to test it and as soon as I installed the MS drivers again the mic broke on the fresh OS install.
Any ideas about getting these to work together? Or will I need to order a non USB microphone?
Bleak
Re: Issue between hardware, need help!
is it a wireless controller?
Re: Issue between hardware, need help!
No it's a wired controller.
Re: Issue between hardware, need help!
At a guess the MS drivers also contain the drivers for the XBox Live headset, which is what's causing the interference. Uninstalling fails to work because it doesn't remove the driver update to the microphone.
Simplest answer would be to get either a) XBox live USB mic or b) one that plugs into the microphone slot.
Re: Issue between hardware, need help!
Yeah I'm going to order a standard microphone that plugs straight into the sound card.
It'll probably be easier than trying to solve the overall problem of what the drivers change exactly.
