Definitely looks the business considering it is a very early sample that wont be as fast as when it gets released. Whether it actually gets released before the end of the year is another thing. Hope that when they do finally come out they are priced reasonably cos it might be some time waiting until some good value chips come out.
very nice. look like my next upgrade will be to a nelahem based system
Yep was always planning on getting a Nehalem system for my next upgrade. Looks like it'll cost a right bomb though - have to see how much they cut off the desktop orientated chips.
Umm, barcalona did look good against a peryn, but not against an nehalem processor
Just finished reading it. That is one sexy mofo. Start saving now.
yeah but what this about locking back clock speed to 2.66Ghz so they can sell higher ones later.....better wait for the higher clock speeds
They're doing that to keep it's upper end performance a secret from AMD most likely.......

looks awesome, can't wait
Was going to build my PC this summer, but this makes me wonder if I should hold back. The problem is the cost of DDR3 which will likely make a decent 600 quid build you can get today unattainable for some time.
