just bought 9800 gx2

i have just bought the new 9800gx2 but how the hell do you get it to work with 2 screens? could anyone please help me with this.

Hi

There is an option in the nvidia control panel, that allows you to set multiple displays. Its under the 'display' tab.

its weird doesn't show up, as the gx2 is 2 cards maybe

That's strange. I know that if you have two physical cards in sli you have to disable sli before you can set multiple displays, but this should not apply to a 9800gx2.

Make sure the nvidia control panel is set to advanced. And have you got the latest drivers?

yeah, and you gotta disable multi gpu or sli to enable it even after i do that i get some random resolutions on my second screen for some weird reasons

it's god punishing you for getting a gx2 to try and better me

disable sli is all I can say. I don't know if it needs to be enabled to run the gx2 fully as I thought it's a single card?

anyway try the nvidia support website I'm sure they could help you better on this unknown problem. A Google search isn't bringing up much with this 9800 card and dual monitors.

I've been messing about getting 2 monitors up and running this weekend.

I have Vista so you may have to do things slightly differrent.
But right click on your desktop and click on your desktop. from there, where it shows your resolution settings it should show a second monitor. You just need to check the "extend to this screen" box.

Failing that, which did happen with me, I had to to mess around with ATI's contol centre to try and get it to detect my monitor.

No idea how you do it with Nvidia though.

So does it work fine with those random resolutions? Have you switched screens and does the other screen show the same problem when it's the second screen? Is the only problem that it's not showing the monitor's native resolution?
