Re: Touch screen monitor...?
I would say usesless for most people as we are to lazy to touch the screen.

Its usefulness can only be measured by the necessity of the touch screen facility and how often you will use those features.
I know I would hardly ever use them.
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
They're pretty naff screens in my expereince. We had them (not that particualr one) at work in some of our systems and they are nothing to write home about.
Unless you have a particular use for them they are pretty damn usless.
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Lol I could just imagine having one screen as a giant start menu.
You could launch all your Apps super fast with one finger...
Maybe if I won the lottery lol...
EDIT: You can get so much cheaper versions on eBay - £120 inc P + p for a 10.4 inch touchscreen....
Maybe I could mount it on my pc case somehow.....
That would be badass....
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Having one either side of your current mon makes no sense to me. As wont you use the current mon for most things, so not be able to do anything with the touch screens (unless they are all displaying the same thing, which would limit the resolution that you run your 24" mon at).
Also wouldn't it get covered in finger prints, making it hard to read after a while.
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
I was thinking the main monitor for Games, Office and The internet while the side monitors are for Windows explorer, Launching programs and Drawing...?
The touch pannels are low res so they won't be any use for gaming...
As for fingerprints, most modern touchscreens have found ways round this.
My LG Viewty for example gets very few.
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Sounds good, but do you think that two is a bit excessive - thats £700 for them both, you could build a half decent computer for that
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Yeah, I reckon I could make do with one Touch screen and a regular £100 19" monitor for other stuff...
I think this cold actually be quite useful in the long run...
BTW anyone finds a site selling touch screen monitors you hook me up K?
So far only one I've got is Saverstore.com and I wouldn't necessarily trust their unheard of brands.
EDIT: Anyone heard of Ilyama?
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
I was going to make a MP3 juke box using a touch screen monitorbut to be honest I have no where to put it.
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
I have heard of Ilyama, I looked at them when I bought my ASUS MW221u, they seemed pretty OK, but I preferred the ASUS
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
I hate bumping my own posts but I've looked at every tech shop I ever use and I havent found any touch screen monitors for under £350
The only place that has em cheap is eBay and I don't really want to risk £150...
Has anyone got any clue as to where I might find one (e.g. a reputable e-shop?)
Cheers for any help
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
If you have tonnes of cash it would be a pretty nice addition just to have but as for real use it seems a bit useless really. But on the bright side whenever your down you can always digitally finger paint!
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Iiyama have been around for a long long time. One of the first mass producers of LCD screens from the 90s and were generally considered very high quaity. Not sure how they compare in todays market but I'm still using my 21.3" 4:3 Iiyama prolite 4 years after I bought it second hand on eBay for £550!!! These were £1000 brand new at the time! The speed of technological progress eh....

Me (see My System specs)
Do a search on here, I get 20+ pages meaning they must be doing something right ;)
Re: Touch screen monitor...?
Naah, the Iiyama was too much at £350...
I'm going with an alternative from LINITX.com
It's smaller but I've read good reviews so I reckon it's worth it.
And @ £150 it's like there paying you to get it!
