    Paper Washers ???

    link

I have seen these paper washers that are supposedly to stop your motherboard shorting, i thought the standoffs were to do that, are they essential?

The standoff's are for that, no idea why you'd use the paper washers...

    Re: Paper Washers ???

I don't get it. I think the screws on motherboards are often used as ground points (i.e. shorts get send to PSU ground rather than your legs).

I used to do the same - only to cases that came supplied with the washers though.

they are, thats why u see those metal dots around the screw circle on the mobo. then you can ground yourself from the case when all the parts are plugged in.
