    P182 Queries

I have looked on some other forums and have become a little confused about the fans in the case and was hoping someone could clarify it all.

I am getting the Antec P182 and i am hoping to replace the case fans that it comes with, the two fans at the back are no issue but the one near the PSU and the two at the front are causing me some worries. If i used these fans - link - will they fit into the spaces (they are standard 25mm thick) and can i used the rubber mount things they come with - similar to these - to secure them in.

    Thx guys

    Re: P182 Queries

A standard size fan will go in the space in front of the upper HDD tray and the one next to the PSU but not in front of the lower HDD cage (where most people put thier drives). The case has to to be modded slightly to get a fan in their.

You can use rubber mounts for the one in front of the upper HDD tray, not sure about the one next to the PSU can't remember exactly how it is fit, but i'm pretty sure you can.

    Re: P182 Queries

cheers for the quick reply mike, do you know what sort of modding needs to be done to the lower fan. Is it possible to undervolt that particular fan (the one that comes in the case) and is it even utterly neccesary when you have the fan near the PSU in?

    Re: P182 Queries

The bottom fan creates quite a draft. I would probably want a fan in front of the HDD's if there were say 4 drives in the cage but 2 even 3 I would think are fine down there with just the standard fan.

The mod is somewhere in the case mods section here on hexus but I can't find it. Someone might know though, SPCR probably have tonnes of them like it to

I don't think the Tricool's will go much lower than their own "low" setting without stalling but I might be wrong. They are pretty damn quiet anyway, I'm happy with the stock ones... for now

    Re: P182 Queries

Once again thankyou very much, sorry for another question but after having a quick look at some pics do the two back fans fit in as normal (with screw etc)? Am i right in thinking the one that points backwards is attached like any normal fan (with holes in the case which screw go through to the fan ) but the one which points out the top of the fan has a different mechanism. If it does how does it fit and again would the fans i linked to fit?

    Thx again Mike

EDIT: could i chuck these on the back fans aswell link

    Re: P182 Queries

You don't want filters on extractors, keeps the dust in

I've never had the stock fans off so I'm not entirely sure on that one but I'm pretty sure its a standard fitting of some description.

EDIT: had a quick look much to the current users annoyance, under the plastic cover at the top are some screw fittings for the fan
