Xbox HD DVD Problem

hey guys,
I have just bought the Xbox HD Player from game as listed in the bargains section. I also have powerdvd 7.3 ultra. The problem i am having is playing any of the dvds that came with it causes playback to pause like every 5 seconds and then the sound comes back but the picture doesn't change. I happens either when the menu appears of at the very start. It pauses for like 10-15 seconds and i can hear the drive reading the disc. Is this a software thing or is the drive faulty? This is using vista btw...

Do you have HDCP monitor/graphics card?
Try AnyDVD HD...

What drivers did you use to allow Windows to recognise it?

I'm struggling to find a link to them

You don't really need drivers... The UDF driver allows you to view the drive content, which is not needed for PowerDVD to work...
They are technically illegal afaik so I won't post any links... PM me if you want them

ah, I didn't realise that.

I just presumed when it arrived as a CD ROM drive, it wasn't installed properly.

On XP for me the hardware wizzard went and downloded driver from Microsoft.

2min later it all just worked.

I got it fixed anyways in both xp and vista... It was the usb cable because once i replaced it it works fine

Good job. Is amazing the probs a dodgy USB cable can cause - it made my HTPC reboot all the time.

As with Funkstar, Windows Update installed the drivers as needed.
