I put about half a pea and use a cutthroat blade to spread it. I used two credit cards to hold the razor blade straight.

    Re: Thermal Paste

Cheers guys, just finished building my computer and had a little fiasco with thermal paste coming out of the tube too fast

What are standard temps for the q6600 under idle and load?
What are temperatures that should not be exceeded, both idle and load?
What are the temperatures to aim for, both idle and load?

    Thx

    Re: Thermal Paste

40 on the cores (tru120) and like 55 under load, I think the overall cpu temperature was 33c when I last checked.

    Re: Thermal Paste

    Here's how u do it:

    - Put the CPU into the oven for 10 mins (low heat)
    - Remove the CPU from the oven
    - add sweet corn, sliced mushrooms
    - apply a nice thin spread of thermal paste

    Bon Appétit
