what about the operating system?
Re: First Build Surfing PC
Thanks Mike,
How about this one too cheap? Prefer Micro ATX?

I posted on the OS board, didn't want to get told off :-)
Basically was thinking of trying out Ubuntu Desktop its free and have never used a non MS OS before so am curious, Vista would be too slow on an E2180 with 1gb and XP would still be £50.
Re: First Build Surfing PC
Hey I'd love to see a PC sitting on a surfboard. Don't think it would work though... :p
Re: First Build Surfing PC
Coolermaster 330 is a nice case
Re: First Build Surfing PC
If you really want cheap and easy, one of the Asus terminator series is ideal. Expansion is a bit limited, but if you are building it for surfing and trying out Linux, they are ideal.
There is a selection here...

micro atx version ;) its actually better for cooling anyway but £5 more :(
as cheap as the PC is intended to be I really wouldn't trust anything like that scan one.
Re: First Build Surfing PC
Thanks staffsMike,
Think I will buy separate
Like the Coolermaster Elite340 £25, will pair up with a £20 PSU
Re: First Build Surfing PC
Something like this is probably your best bet then

I'd steer clear of the hiper's and ezcool's which are a bit cheaper but awful.

Antec NSK 4480 Silver/Black Mini-Tower ATX Case - is the psu in this good enough for a geforce 8800??
Re: First Build Surfing PC
