    Which Printer should i get?

I am after a good printer but don't want to spend more than say £65. I have 2 in mind:

    Canon IP4500

    Brother DCP 150C - Multifunction

I want it to print good quality photos and have cheap inks. Looking at both, there are compatables available for them both. Not sure if i need a Scanner but the Brother one has some good spec as has the Canon.

    What would you suggest guys?

The cannon is easily the better PRINTER of the two. Some of the best quality photo prints I've seen for the price.

But do you need the scanner? Cannon does make multifunction printers, but their print quality is not quite as good.

Re: Which Printer should i get?

To be honest I havent had much luck with compatible inks, for purely photo stff I stick with originals. Even when they looked ok wen printed, they faded over time. Current printer is a canon IP4000, very happy with it, have been particularly iimpressed with how it stands up to infrequent use, have never neaded to runa cleaning cycle. I do reserve my inkjet for purely photo stuff, all my text gets done on an ancient laser.

One cavet to the above is that I didnt try any high end 3rd party inks, might do some research and try again.

Think the cheaper scanner / printer combos also lack indevidual colour ink tanks, at least the last one I looked at did.

Any multi-function/all-in-one from Epson, Canon, or HP

Visit their respective websites... see which ones take your fancy, then Google for the best prices

I wouldn't touch Epson. Too unreliable and bad customer service.

Cannon in my experience are solid though, even their cheaper stuff. Customer service is also brilliant and I have experienced it first hand

Re: Which Printer should i get?

I want a good printer but i am sending off for pics now instead of printing them off. Much cheaper. Still not sure which one to go for. The Canon looks awesome. Anyone tried compatables with Canon. I ask because i notice you have to move the chip from the original ink to the compatable one. Is that easy, any problems, still good quality? Thanks
