It's just one or two screws out the bottom on dells. It doesn't void the warranty they just don't cover the new RAM obviously.

its cheaper to do it your self, then im gonna stick the spare 2gb on ebay!!! bargin!!
i love my new laptop
Well the alienware had me pretty much convinced but then i started reading about issues of strength and robustness in the laptop being weak, can anyone enlighten me further on this? As if this is the issue i think the asus is what i'll need to go for, as it will get inevitable knocks at uni even with a sturdy case
Is the Xtreme 770 from rock a good alternative to the alienware and is it worth the extra money?
It's not bad. It's a pretty common laptop gaming chassis. Rock were in real trouble earlier in the year but Stone Computers bailed them out. Whether they are stable or not now is anyone's guess really.
They used have a good forum which disappeared at the same time.
You get a pretty good warranty thrown in which is good, the specs are ok for the money.
My money if we are going up to the £1500 mark would be on the alienware as I prefer the more compact 15.4" chassis.. not that it's particuarly small though lol.
I'd still split the money and get something like the XPS though
