    Crossfire 4850 Power Requirements

I'm thinking of getting a crossfire 4850 setup but am worried about the power requirements. I have a q6600 overclocked to 3.2GHz, 5 high performance 120mm fans, 3 sata hard drives, 2 sata dvd burners, ix38 quad gt motherboard, 4GB 800MHz corsair ram. I have a corsair HX 620W power supply, will this be enough to supply the power to it?

Having said that, even though not out yet so no concrete benchmarks, would anyone suggest sticking to a single 4870 instead?

I'm pretty sure that the HX620 would cope. I'd always stick to a single card if the BMs and price were the same. But I can wait a few days and see, despite the burning sensation in my pocket...

I'd expect two 4850 to be faster than a 4870 in the increasing number of multi-GPU supporting games. Then again, I don't see the 4870 costing 250+ quid (cost of two cheap 4850). From a bang for buck perspective, I'll wait and see (probably depend on game).

You could power all that with an HX520 so the 620 will be fine.
