Re: 500 Notes for a 100% Gaming rig

All nice machines specced so far, but I really would push for the 4850, it's amazing value for what it can do. And the extra screen resolution of a 20" monitor would make it a much nicer machine. You only really appreciate it when you have to step down in resolution, but having to use a 17" 1280x1024 screen at work really sucks compared to the 1680x1050 at home.

Hyunadi ImageQuest monitors are very good monitors.

    I have 2 x 19" ones and can't fault them.

Re: 500 Notes for a 100% Gaming rig

No its not ok... make sure you get one with DVI... huge difference in picture quality

Personally (I know others will disagree with me), but for a "100% gaming rig" I think you are better off with a higher clocked duo... If you go for the E7200 and OC that to 3.8ghz you will have better gaming performance than the q6600 which usually tops out at 3.6ghz... then use the saved £40-50 to get a 4870 instead. For gaming E7200 + 4870 > Q6600 + 4850.... for multitasking and quad optimised games this might not be true, but for this years games (excluding 1 or 2) this is true... Ignore 3d marks when it comes to comparing as it benches the cpu too and therefore is a crap benchmark for measuring gaming performance...

well i know its a bit out of your budget(maybe not?) but did see this monitor
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-X222W-W...r=0AT3GHNG31HF
acer X222W, no idea if its good mind you so some1 has this screen perhaps? seems a good price @ £150, dvi and vga.

this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/123955...specifications ? seems low on the contrast though but then again, there are many ways of measuring it so could be on par with others.

Any real reason to keep it to ebuyer? im guessing to make the order all in one and managed from one company?.
