    USB Sata Boot Disk

    Hi guys,

Hopefully someone can help. I am trying to install Windows on a SATA hard disk, but unfortunately i dont have a floppy disk drive to load the SATA drivers- instead i will have to use a USB key. I have downloaded the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to clean my pen, but how do i add these Sata drivers to the pen:

    Thanks in advance!

Look in your BIOS to see if it has a floppy emulation option for the USB device (have it plugged in when you go into the BIOS).

But do i just copy the files to the USB or do they have to be in a certain format, directory structure...?

    Re: USB Sata Boot Disk

    what OS?
    what chipset?

if it's XP & you want to run AHCI or RAID you can only load drivers from a floppy or have them slipstreamed into an XP install disk.
Most modern chipsets have basic native SATA suport & don't require any drivers to just work as an ordinary drive.

Copy all the files (the ones which includes the file txtsetup.oem) to the root of the floppy.

There's also this thing which might work - Intel F6 Floppy Utility

(it's option 2 - "Utilities, Tools and Examples")

    Precisely

What motherboard do you have Aidso?
Are you just assuming you need the SATA drivers on a floppy disk/USB device, or have you been asked for them during installation?
