    Ram = Memory!!

    im lookin to get ram......is it worth to get ddr3 over ddr2......

    i heard somewhere a special slot is needed for ddr3 ram is this true..?

    DDR3 is a different slot yes and no it is not worth getting. Costs too much and doesn't really give any extra preformance. It would only be useful for insane overclocks on high FSB chips I would imagine.

    ddr3 is still not worth the extra amount over decent ddr2. too much of a price jump and not enough of a performance jump

    your better off getting decent PC2-6400 or PC2 8500 (although thats not an official speed)

    and yes it does use a different slot

    Quite simply, get what your motherboard supports unless you are planning to do a full system upgrade.

    RAM types are not interchangeable.
