Oh dear, I just noticed my new Asus P5Q3 Deluxe motherboard only has DDR3 slots. I think I know the answer but can someone confirm that the DDR2 I have bought are no use and I will now have to get DDR3 RAM and watch my wallet cry real tears?

confirmed
just return it and tell the company to credit the ddr2 price off the ddr3
or you can return the motherboard and do it the otherway around.
No use mate... one of them has to go...
here is a question; why do all asus motherboard models start with "P5"
Thanks for the confirmation. Memory goes back, lesson learned, piggy bank smashed. No idea about the P5. Nothing in the manual, sorry.

Pentium 3 -> pentium 4 -> pentium 5 which was renaimed to the core series
