Re: Price check ? Hiper Type R 580W

I bought a Hiper Type R 580 years ago. It certainly was not in any way "whisper quiet" or whatever it said on the box (a very nice box it was too - still have it in fact). And after about 18 months, it developed a very annoying, very loud high-pitched squealing that just wouldn't go away. I replaced it with a Corsair... which is about a million times better.

Like Thorsson said... it certainly looked the part, with its metallic fans, and shiny connectors, etc. But the innards are the parts that really matter.

SO did the Ultra X-Connect PSUs.
Look amazing - Worked like a pregnant dog. Absolute pap

BUT............If thes big manufacturers (Enermax/Corsair/Seasonic/etc) want to learn something then they really should look at the cable attachements that Hiper (and now Tagan) have.

I wouldn't use a Hiper if it was free, but with their modualr attachments they have got it BANG ON!
(They do actually have a good RMA service aswell - Probably the amount of practice they get )
