Smile New mouse time - suggestions please

I have a Logitech MX 1000 which is getting a bit past it. It'll sometimes double click when I've only single clicked. It also won't let me highlight text as well as it did. Say in Word it'll select a load of text, only a fraction of what I want to select, then attempt to move it down the page.

So I'm stuck between a Logitech MX Revolution for staying with wireless and keeping my desk uncluttered and the Razer DeathAdder which is cheaper and more gaming suited. I do a little bit of COD4 etc but when I get a new PC soon I'd expect to be gaming more and with quite demanding games.

Another good point I like about the MX Revolution is that it has a dongle that I could plug in on the underneath of my Dell monitor so the dongle is out of sight but very close. Then I could keep the charging station out of site by putting it on top of my PC case next to my case.

So what do I do? Stay with Logitech for being used to their stuff and for carrying on with wireless? Or go with Razer for being about £10 cheaper and more gaming suited?

Or do I, if this is possible, get both and use the MX Revolution for desktop stuff and Razer for gaming? If I can get XP (now) and Vista (next PC) to cope with two mice I'd get the MX Revolution first.

Re: New mouse time - suggestions please

Give logitech a call, i had a mx1000 which had problems (it was 3+ years old) charging and they sorted me out with a brand new one within a week! Even let me keep the old mouse & charger!

    Fantastic customer support!

Re: New mouse time - suggestions please

Hmm I could do that. But I'd quite like a new mouse. It would be nice to be able to hide the charging base away and use a dongle in my Dell monitor underneath where I can't see it.

I'd go with a Deathadder they are great.

You may even be able to get the Guildwars edition of it cheaper. (if you dont mind the guildwars logo on it)

Re: New mouse time - suggestions please

Id stick with logitech because in my opinion their equipment is of superior build quality to razor (or at least it feels like it is). I dont thin any of us can decide if wireless if of any bonus to you really, but if it helps i dont see the point when its going to stay on your desk anyway.
If you do decide to get a gaming mouse i would get one fromt he logitech gaming range, for example the
    G5
    or
    G9

I feed them to the neighbourhood cats

Actually the G5, and razer deathadder were 'permanently' borrowed from me by a cousin and friend. The G7 was chucked across the room by my nephew, it still works but not as well.

The only one that was not stolen or broken was the G9, for some reason the shape did not suit my hands.

I had actually never heard of it, before I found it on some obscure German hardware review site. Last time I checked its hardly available in the uk, but I managed to get mine on ebay for £24 brand new. However I think you can get it for about £30 now.

It is really a very good mouse, as soon as I get some free time, I might consider putting up a mini review on hexus.

Re: New mouse time - suggestions please

i dont like all the colours on that mouse they are a bit... toylike, but it does seem to have a nice featureset. The main problem i would have is after the brilliant products and service i have had with logitech it took me a lot of consideration to buy a saitek keyboard nevermind a mouse from a company that isnt particualy widespread in the UK.
