Upgrade of old PC - Memory & HDD

    Hey.

I am thinking about upgrading an old ish PC. It still works OK on moden games etc but struggles on video editing..

    My Specs are:

    450W Power
    3.2GHZ P4
    Corsair TwinX 1024MB c2 3200LL pro
    Sapphire HD 2600XT Graphics AGP
    Abit IC7 MAx 3 mobo
    Sound Blaster Audigy ZS
    160 GB Seagate SATA
    8X DVD +/-R/RW (IDE)

I was initially looking to get some more HDD space.. but then saw some cheap memory.. So I have 3 questions:

    1) Is the HDD here OK?:

    http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(20670)...007200rpm.aspx

    2) Should I get an extra 1GB of memory as below? Would the fact that it is not the same speed as my current memory (above) be an issue? - or would the performance gain be worth it:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=237278

    3) Would a better DVD writer really help here or is the performance negligible?

    Cheers!!!

Possibly go for a larger HDD, as it only costs a few quid more.

DVD upgrade wont make much of a differance.

And the concerns about the memory...they both run at the same speed DDR PC3200 (400MHz), so latencys would be the only real differance. And the extra memory would make a huge boost in preformance, so go for it
