15 Quid For A Case Fan?

thanks for all of the help guys, based on the price to performance ratio i will probably go for one of the scythe fans but i can't seem to find the ones based in this review anywhere

old thread but i thought seeing as i have bought the 15 quid noctua and it seems to shift alot of air but doesn't seem to have been worth the money, i thought i would ask what people thought of these 2 fans to replace my other ones...

I will probably get the nexus to use as outake at the top of the case and the scythe to use as the exhaust and keep the noctua as the side intake... unless anyone can see a cheaper and solution in terms of peformance... also has anyone ever used specialtech because i haven't and wanted to know if they were a good company etc...

The nexus looks ok, I recommend Yate Loon Low speed or medium speed, this is from personal experience, decent low cost fans, I'm not sure of Specialtech sell legit ones though.
The fan specs suggest a loud fan but definitely not the case, YL always did have high sound rating compared to other manufacturers for some reason
Any 120mm fan exceeding 1700rpm is going to be loud mind you.

yup, specialtech are decent and very quick

i used them about 2 weeks ago for two Lian Li stealthing plates (they were about &#163;10 cheaper overall than anywhere else )

lol... forgot to say... well seeing as i cant decide i'll get one of each ... the scythe apparently shifts 110 odd cfm at 40db which is noisy but if it shifts that much air i'll use it as the rear exhaust and keep it turned down with then fan controller i'm going to get and then for gaming turn it up to get rid of the hot air... btw the fan controller i'm going to get goes from 5 - 11v

They are actually very good for what they are. Not silent by any means but pretty quiet and they do shift a lot of air. I think I would still get the nexus one's at the same price though.

I doubt very much they'll be 24db at 1800rpm.

Edit: looking at the reviews on this page you can see fans are 22/23dba and run just over 1000rpm.
