    360 HD-DVD or not?

sposed to be really cheap right?
thing is it'll look minging next to my elite unless there's a black one which i don't think there is as they were only given to the dev's right?
anywayyyy i have a ps3 aswell and couple blu-rays... now what i was wondering was... will it look as good as i saw oceans 12 or 13 not sure which at a friends and it looked rough as hell on his nice 42" sammy.its was all grainy and you could see the pixel:S now idk if its his tv or what? but yeah put me off.whereas blu-ray plays back perfectly on my tv with none of the above... so i don't want to go buy a hd-dvd player for my 36 and find out it looks rubbish:S
    so what'd you reckon?
just want it for the odd few films... like american gangster which isn't on blu-ray

Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

    Re: 360 HD-DVD or not?

It'd be a bit of a wasted investment, considering the price of the drive, Microsoft discontinuing the product, and Blu-Ray (congrats to Sony for *finally* winning a format war) domination of the HD disc market. Just wait for the movies you want to be 'ported' to BD, it'll happen.

I would go for it... You can get over 20 films and the drive for the same cost as just a bluray player and 2 films...

Yeah, it's so cheap that it really doesn't hurt. Good film range too!

    Re: 360 HD-DVD or not?

IMHO HDs are better quality than Blu-Ray discs. Might be a glitch in your friends setup.

Format war: Betamax V VHS = Poor format wins (2) HD V Blu-Ray = Poor format wins again

With HD price you cant go wrong. Buy and enjoy.

    Re: 360 HD-DVD or not?

The content of HD-DVDs are for the most part the same as Blu-rays... Blu-rays disc are physically more durable though... I wouldn't call either the poorer format

    Re: 360 HD-DVD or not?

Gamestation are selling 2nd hand HD DVD for the 360 for £17 and the films for £7.99 which is a cracking deal if you ask me. Thinking on picking one up myself.

They have the new drives for £19.99 :

    Not to bad at all!

    Re: 360 HD-DVD or not?

wait ferral, even cheaper at pcworld (lol?) price match it at gamestation and you willo get it for like £18 brand new.
    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...&category_oid=

Good aye? i want to buy one for my tv/monitor but dad says its a waste of money for a dead format(for new films, doesnt see the point in getting for the old ones). Well worth the money if you ask me, quality is onpar with blu ray and really hd is the better format for actual features where as bluray is just good for storage but sony paid off so many people it won >.<.
