    Re: New Computer Rig

Firstly, if you want it as cheep as posible, why not go for this mobo: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=663061 - its around £20 cheaper than the one you selected, as it has the intel chipset, and is samller.

Secondly, do you really need the DDR2 PC 8500, when you could save about a tenner going for PC 6400.

For the PSU, that is a nice PSU, but this one looks quite decent (is £2 cheeper) and in stock:http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=777995

That would total at £170.10 with the PC 8500 memory, or about £162 with this memory:http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=255300

    Re: New Computer Rig

wow that system is a steal as long as he's willing to sell it for £200

It's got workstation components though so it won't be optimised for gaming. (it's designed for graphics professionals who use stuff like Microstation and 3DS Max)

    Re: New Computer Rig

Pentium D's genereally run very hot, not a big fan of coolermaster PSU's or gigabyte motherboards but they are growing on me again.

It's cheap and I'm sure it'll work but I wouldn't buy it for myself or a friend.

You may need to download drivers etc.. but yeah you could get the pc into a working state with the XP CD.

Wouldn't be bad for £100. Be nice to know the PSU it used though
