iv been running prime95 for just under an hour now, CPU is at 100% load, RAM at 85% load and atm the CPU temp is 35C and motherboard is also 35C, idleing the CPU was at 18C-20C, cant remember what the motherboard was
im using asus pc probe II to measure temps and the heatsink is a scythe ninja rev plus B

That is all relative to your ambient temperature and how well ventilated your case is.
If you were to say your room was at 20+ deg C then its unlikely your CPU can be any less than that on normal air cooled HSF combo.
Use a few other temp proggies at the same time too. If you look at the guide to overclocking thread, there are links to 2 or 3 temperature monitoring programs. Use them all to get a good idea of your temps :)
Try looking at coretemp and report back on the temp of your 4 cores :)
Those temps are almost identical to mine. I run a Core 2 Duo E6750 that has a stock speed of 2.66 GHz that I overclocked to 3.41 GHz. My idles are between 19-26c typically, and the highest peak I've seen (after running SuperPi on the highest setting) is 39c. ^_^ It depends a lot on your case cooling and the room temperature, as mentioned above. :)
For air cooling and water cooling for that matter it all depends on ambient air temperature. If your room is 20oC then it is impossible for any type of cooling which does not include some type of refrigeration to cool the CPU to below 20oC.
Now get core temp or Everest and check your temps again motherboard sensors are notoriously inaccurate. The on core thermal diodes are better but again not perfect, after all they can not calibrate them that would be to time consuming and costly.
Yes it does but more important is the software used measure the CPU temperature. As others have stated, try Coretemp as the Asus Probe is guaranteed to be wrong. My Asus Probe reports a far lower temperature to Coretemp as well.Quote:

Hehe, on the first BIOS load of my FP-IN9, I had CPU idle temps of 13 deg C. I still have a picture of that somewhere (reported via Abit's temp monitoring proggie). Physically impossible, the room was 18 deg C! :lol:
