Asus P5B;dead? after failed live bios upd8

My system has been running fine, till i decided to upgrade the bios for certain reasons. decided to use the Asus Update where u can update the bios with the pc on, anyhow it came up with the error msg that writing failed.

so i thought nothing of it, now my system will not boot up. everything powers up fine but there is no beep sound and the system doesnt load.

i have tried taking the cpu out, unplugging the power, taking out the battery all for an hr but none of this works. also tried taking stuff out and still not working.

urgently needing help on this would appreciate any help

maybe a possibility that the bios chip has become corrupted, i don't know of a way to do extract from an asus yourself to get reflashed. (i i remember rightly with abit's you can extract the chip and get it reflashed).

and that why i only flash via pen drive (i i need to)

    sorry.

    It has a soldered chip.

You can try the crash free BIOS feature. Put in your Asus CD and switch on, if it's successful, it will restore yoru board to whatever BIOS is on the CD.

    Doesn't always work though.

There have been several reported instances of corrupted BIOSs if you try to reflash from within Windows - Asus themselves don't recommend it. Apart from trying the method outlined by Clunk, there isn't much you can do apart from send the board for repair.
