Unfortunately, my Jetway J7F4M is proving very unreliable and am on the verge of returning it for something else.
I've been lookin at the atom chip which is very very green (this is to go into the server in my attick which is running 24/7 so low power is very important to me.
However, most of the motherboards released so far use the 945GC chipset which is a lot more power hungry - it even has a heat sink and fan about 10 times the size of the Atom CPU which is cooled passively with a teeny heatsink
The far more economical chipset is the 945GSE. It costs a bit more but means an entire system will have a TDP of around 4W (for CPU) + 5.5W (for GSE chipset) = 9.5W.
The current GC chipset has a TDP of 25W which kind of wipes out the benefit of having a 4W Atom CPU in the first place.
Anyone come across a GSC chipset? Loads of talk about it on the web but it still seems vapourware.
