    SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

Has anyone had any experience with the SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo case ?
Im upgrading from my old Shuttle SN41G2 system and am looking for a sleek looking SFF case which I can install a micro atx mobo and standard size PSU in and this one has caught my eye so far. Anyone got one?

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

Not got one but I've researched them to death for a previous build.

They are good solid cases. The fans are a bit of a let down being 80mm but it's hard to get a higher quality cube case than either the SG01 or SG02.

Personally I ended up going for a uATX tower the Silverstone TJ-08B and have never regretted it. It's still very small but the cooling potential and the room for decent HSF's means that it can be far cooler while remaining much quieter

Im limited with space realy so a cube fits in nicely, a tower would be too tall and the desktoptop cases seem to be quite deep.

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

The TJ08 is really small basically as tall as a uATX board and the psu.

    TJ08 Dimensions:
    Height: 381mm
    Width: 195mm
    Depth: 378mm

    Sugo SG02F Dimensions:
    Height: 212mm
    Width: 270mm
    Depth: 393mm

As you can see the TJ08 is really quite small taller than a cube yes but a lot narrower and not as deep either it will also have much better cooling from the 2x 120mm fans and the space to fit just about any CPU cooler you would like.

Edit: This is what a TJ08 looks like fully kitted out,

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

Put the TJ08 where the guitar bag is

In all seriousness the TJ08 offers pretty much the maximum flexability for a SFF, which keeping the price reasonable and the cooling good anyway.

Nothing wrong with the SG02 but as much as I wanted a cube, the uATX tower while not quite as funky, works far better.

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

The TJ is about 5cm too wide to fit at the side and now looking at sg02's dimentions its actualy too deep/too high as it wont push far enough back past my sockets. Time to check out desktop cases I think, something that will sit nicely ontop of my dvd/vcr...

Yeah that one's kool. You get teh aluminium front to as opposed to plastic. You can get black versions elsewhere if that appeals.

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

    They don't fit.

    Unless the + is smaller..

With that 8800GT it's pretty much at it's limit and I'm sure the 9800 is longer.

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

I have an earlier model SG01b-w.

very good - wish I'd checked the cpu & fan maximum height, the maximum size of the cooling fans & bought a modular power supply to avoid having to find homes for unused cables

    Re: SilverStone SST-SG02B-F Sugo

You could mod the case I suppose. The 8800GT is 9" and the 9800GTX is 10.5" (roughly) as far as I can find out so it really won't fit as standard.

You would need to cut a whole in that piece of metal blocking it for the card to fit. I guess the case would just lose a bit of it's rigidity with that missing but as it won't be moved very often I'm sure it's not a big issue.

Silverstone do very nice desktop/htpc cases though, they will almost certainly take the bigger cards.
