need to get a raid server

I need a rackmount server (hopefully 2u or 1u) that has SATA multilane raid cards with their plugs facing externally.

That's because I have a large chassis containing several SATA drives with their individual SATA cables combined using these 4-to-1 multilane adapters like this picture:


but I can't find any servers like that. All the servers I see have the hard drives inside them, which I don't want. Does anyone know of a server like this? Maybe I'm just not searching with the proper terminology.

thats a 4x sas external socket iirc, give dell a ring, they will tell you what you can have as add on cards

i love areca, i actually have 2 of their cards (12 port and a 6 port... but they are internal for normal SATA not multilane)

anyway, but I need to get a server with these kinds of cards inside, not just the cards themselves.

btw, nothing is jumping out at me when i search for 4x sas external socket. i'll keep looking, but if you have anything else i would still appreciate it

scan have a few, but its all internal and 4 ext per card

what about some servers with at least 2 free PCIe slots? I'll put the low-profile cards in myself... Do 1 or 2u servers even have PCIe slots? Pls help im a noob, i never used rack mounting before
