    Suggestions on a proposed build

I am looking at getting a new PC as my current one is just way too old (6.5 years). I was looking at buying members.shaw.ca/ajpage98/secondbuild.htm (sorry, won't let me create a link). I want to be able to play games on it (COD4, TF2, Portal, UT3...) and hopefully make it good enough to play games a year or two from now (don't need to be on max settings then), with minor upgrades (probably add another 4870 eventually). I would also be doing some photo/video editing on it. Would you suggest that I change anything? If so what?
    Thanks for any input.

Very good build dudis. I would go modular for the PSU like a HX520 or equivalent. Your choice of HD, Mobo and GPU is spot on.

Re: Suggestions on a proposed build

I am hoping to have a budget around $1300. I would prefer Intel for CPU, as for graphics i really don't care although I have heard that the Radeon HD 4870 is the best bang for buck right now so that's the reason I have it in there at the moment. As for changing the PSU to a 520 would that still allow for me to eventually put in a second video card, or is that cutting it close? I will eventually want to add a blu-ray burner, possibly a second hard drive (I never thought I'd use up the 80GB i have on my current one, but now i am having trouble keeping enough space free with 80+160=240GB), so would 520 still cut it or should I look for a modular PSU with a higher wattage?
    Thanks again for your input.

Yes, modular is the way to go, as for the second GPU, 520W would be cutting it quite close with 2 cards so yeah a bit more power would serve you better. The Corsair HX620 or 650W Enermax Modu+ would be more than enough. I'm guessing you're in the US so have a look around at reviews of the major manufacturers where you are to get an idea of what's best for you.
