Im about to buy a camcorder, it says its capable of recording onto either SD or SDHC memory cards, anyone here know what the difference is?

SDHC are high capacity SD cards (4gb+ IIRC), some older devices cannot use them.
it's basically a newer standard sort of thing
but it's not back compat with older devices AFAIK
oh right so the only difference is that there bigger ?
and they use a different filesystem, they use fat32 as opposed to fat16, but appart from that...

ah right thanks for the help,
One thing is the Camera Spec which I imagine was written around September last year, lists max storage 8GB SDHC(not supplied), however Ive seen 16GB SDHC cards available, is it that the camera will only recognise upto 8GB, or that at the time of publication the larger 16gb ones werent available and that it will infact be able to use it all?

yeah that was I think, one of the sites is offering with a 16GB bundle.
