    Re: 5.1 speakers

well 50-60 quid is not much for a 5.1 set..

have a look at logitechs range, such as the Z-540's

also have you considered a good strong 2.1? like the Z-2300?

Stretch your budget and go for a set of Logitech G80s:

    Re: 5.1 speakers

it did look G80`s before but held off because of the amount id spent on the rig, but i think i shall have to scrape up the extra and get a set of those. its pointless buying a cheap set i guess.

im now on my 3rd set of headphones over this same kind of scenario.

    many thanks for the replies.

    Lightbulb Re: 5.1 speakers

I bought my son a set of Logitech X-530 (£36.99 / £43.46) a couple of years back, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality, for such low-mid end speakers

You can get them less than that easy...
    I use these:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/125087 (OEM)
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119065 (Boxed)

I think they're a great set of speakers, the bases are a little rickety but the sound's good.
Don't be fooled by the price...I got the OEM ones and they're great!

btw...when you install them, make sure to up mix...otherwise they'll be stuck in 2.1 mode, lol.
