Quick Question

After a backup I am going to be rebuild and formatting my PC.

I have never moved parts from one case to another so this is new although I have built many PC's in the past.

I was just wondering, when people are moving bits from case to case, what do they put them on? Just the side or do they have something in particular?

Why not just stick them straight into the other case?
i'd just take out all the fans and put them in the other case, then the psu, then stuff like hdd's and dvd drives. So that then you can just take the mobo out and stick it in without having to remove anything (though it's probably a good idea to remove the graphics card and any other cards you might have).

Thats what I was thinking now, I just have to look at where the screw holes are to make sure I can get my hands in the gaps, am also going to be spending time doing a nice job on the cabling (hopefully) so need to make sure I have space to fiddle (SIM back off, that isn't an excuse for you to come up with one of your usual replies ).

Another point, If I come to remove the the CPU Cooler to make space, whats best to remove the paste?
