    odd startup issue

Well this has only started to happen recently(havent changed anything afaik) where sometimes when im starting my pc up all works until windows is logging in then there will be no image displayed on the screen, its getting an input as it doesnt say the "no signal" message and its all on but normally it is fine the next time i reboot(restart then tis fine) but today i had to boot up 7 times to finally get it to display. Any ideas? ive never had an issue like this before as its an intermitant one but its fine ocne its past this stage.

    Thanks for the help.

    Re: odd startup issue

reinstall nvidia drivers, this was happening to me a while back... i take it you have a monitor and a TV hooked up/ have had something hooked up to the other output of the gfx card at some point?

i was getting a boot screen then everything went dead at the login screen, i pinpointed it to the gfx cards drivers (changing default monitor settings [i fault found by plugging something into every output on the card]), so i updated to 177.41 with a modded .inf and havn't had any problems anymore...

    Re: odd startup issue

I think you maybe be using a resolution or refresh rate that your monitor cannot display. Try using a 'safe mode' start to change this setting.

When you start your PC everytime will it show the display before logging in? The reason I ask is because my monitor has a fault where occasionally it will be turned on with input and appear to turn off but an extremely faint image is still appearing on the display. The only way I can fix this is to bang it lol but ive read its most likely a faulty cap inside the display.
Just posting because you said this "sometimes" happens which is the same as what I get and when I either reboot or repeatedly turn off the display it fixes it or to give it a whack. Only a cheap display I have though so I doubt this is your problem.

Excessive brightness will make backlight bleed more visible, so try turning that down. With brightness at the default on my monitor I could see some backlight bleed but it was obvious that the brightness was way too high and having turned that down I see none.

    Re: odd startup issue

I had a similar problem. After installing my graphics driver and rebooted the Windows load bar would show up for a few seconds but after that the screen would just go black. A bios update fixed my problem so maybe you should try that.
