    2 quick questions

    1) a PCI-E 2.0 card such as the new HD4850's, do they work on normal PCI-E slots.....i heard that it doesnt matter.....will i hafta buy a whole new motherboard just to cope with the card i just bought?

    2) how do you find the right ram for a computer? i know ive said this in previous threads but they didnt help......

    meh not great but could i get (2 x 2gb) 4gb on that?

    Yes the gxf card will work. EDIT.. AGP.. no it wont lol

    1. No, any full-sized PCI-E slot will be fine for these new cards. *edit* but as mike points out, your board is AGP, which is NOT PCI-E.

    2. Its says "DDR 400" so that is what you need. Not DDR2 or DDR3. That page states max size is 2GB, so 1GB per slot is the max. Some older boards do not like the higher density DIMMs though, which is something thats normally harder to figure out.

    I find the crucial site quite handy for find details out about RAM compatibility for various machines/motherboards.

    Good board, just make sure you get a PCI-Express graphics card and DDR2 RAM for it

    umm....ok then....will HD 4850 work on this motherboard i aint sure with the new cards seeing as the last one i installed was a 7800gt.....
