    Laptop Battery Problem

I've just bought a new replacement battery for my laptop computer an Acer Aspire 1672LiMi.

The problem i'm having is that the new battery it is being rejected by the laptop. When I try to power up the laptop using the new battery I get a black screen with a blue window saying battery is not compatible with laptop and switches off. The battery is a generic model BATELW80L8H Li-ion 14.8V 4400mAh.

Any ideas how I could get round this problem? is there a way to make the laptop accept the battery?

    Thanks,

    Gerry.
