    Size of scythe mugen and abit ix38 quad-gt

    Hi
    I'm polish so sorry for my english. I want to buy ix38 quad-gt but not sure for 100% if I can fit on this mobo scythe mugen or in option ninja. All the heatsinks around the cpu socket seem to be close to it. Enybody try put them together?
    The rest of stuff will be:
    abit ix38 quad-gt
    intel core 2 duo e8500
    gigabyte radeon hd4870
    corsair twinx pc8500 5-5-5-15 (2 x 2gb)
    thermaltake pure power 680w
    samsung 750gb spinpoint f1
    cooler master cm690

    Looking at the heatsinks on the board you should be ok with any options. The northbridge heat sink isn't that large and isn't that tall, which is the important bit to check.

    Although if you are considering that abit board, I would like to recommend to you the Asus X38 series of boards,you can get the P5e for around £110 which is a bargain.

    The ASUS X38 (like alot of ASUS boards) suffers from horrendous vdroop with an overclock.
