    Price Check

I think I've decided to sell my desktop and buy a laptop instead. The PS3 has taken over all my gaming needs now so this is just overkill for iTunes and the internet.

The components below need pricing up so I can see what I can raise for the laptop:

    Intel Q6600 G0 OEM
    Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R uATX
    4Gb (2x2Gb) Corsair DDR2 6400 DHX
    320Gb Maxtor SATA
    160Gb Maxtor SATA
    160 Samsung Spinpoint SATA
    Inno3D 512mb 8800GT
    Enermax 535w, 38a
    Silverstone TJ08B
    22" Samsung SM225BW

All but the monitor, HDDs and case are boxed with all the bits and pieces. All are within warranty with receipts.

    Re: Price Check

with the screen and everything you will probably get enough money for a nice little laptop.

    Roughly,

    Intel Q6600 G0 OEM ~£85 - £90
    Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R uATX ~45
    4Gb (2x2Gb) Corsair DDR2 6400 DHX ~40
    320Gb Maxtor SATA ~£20
    160Gb Maxtor SATA ~15
    160 Samsung Spinpoint SATA ~£18
    Inno3D 512mb 8800GT ~£70
    Enermax 535w, 38a ~no idea, £40?
    Silverstone TJ08B ~35 -£40
    22" Samsung SM225BW ~£140

You could just sell the Q6600 and 8800GT, buy a pentium dual core and run it as is though.

What sort of laptop would you be looking for?

I never thought of that! I could buy a second hand cpu and just use the onboard graphics.

Another thought I had was to sell the above, buy a cheap laptop and use the rest to build a second HTPC for the bedroom

Not really sure about the laptop...never owned one. Something cheap, dual core, 2gb RAM and wifi thats all really. Any suggestions?

    These are very nice

You're paying a bit more than the basic £300 dual core (nice lenovo one on ebuyer actually ) but you get the dedicated graphics capable of light gaming (lowering the res etc..) and it has a HDMI out which could happily take care of HTPC demands, I think they come with a remote to in the expresscard slot as well like the XPS range.

You don't buy from them, they link directly to Dell. They only list the deals.

If you decide to buy via one of the links, note the system details and then go via Quidco.
