    Adaptec RAID Cards

I've been looking at two RAID cards:

    Adaptec RAID 5805
    http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/product...ance/SAS-5805/

    ICP5805BL
    http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support...aid/ICP5805BL/

The second one appears to be going for about £100, whereas the first one appears to be going for about £280. Why is the second one so cheap?

    Thanks.

    Re: Adaptec RAID Cards

The first one is newer, has more memory and while I only had a quick look, supports more drives - just a more capable card - probably for medium to high end servers. The first one looks pretty capable, but advertised for entry level servers (whatever that means!!)
