    Which PSU to get...?

    Yo,

    So I'm back from holiday, soon gona order everything x)
    I wanted go for the Antec Sonata III which included a 500W PSU. But After giving it a though, and I had some money left, I thought id better go for a better PSU for the future.

    So I decided to go for the Antec Three Hundred case, which is cheap and seems to be good enough for the job (anyone with any experience with that case is welcome to reply about it)

    So leaves me with the PSU, I found 3 PSU's that would do the job more than enough I think;
    Antec 650 Watt Power Supply EA 650
    Cooler Master Real Power M620
    Corsair TX 650W
    I'm thinking to go for the Corsair TX 650W, but I'm not sure. Anyone has any experience with any of the PSU's given above? Or maybe got any better one for the same money (like max. 90 euro)

    Got 1 other question concerning PSU and Graphic Card;
    For example the GTX260 needs 2x6-pin power connectors, most PSU's have 2x8-pin, or 1x8-pin and 1x6-pin connectors, would this be a problem if the PSU Id get has 2x8-pin connectors while the card needs 2x6-pin connectors?

    Would it also be smart to get a modulair PSU? The Corsair TX seems really nice, but it isn't modulair, while the Cooler Master is a Modulair one... So I'm not so sure which to get.

    Basicly that's all I need to know before I'm gona order I guess ^^

    Any advice is welcome =)

    PS: Last thing... As motherboard; Asus P5Q Pro or the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3?

    Re: Which PSU to get...?

    Well if you want to go modular I would probably go to the 520W corsair. I don't like coolermaster PSU's really, never had one but would never buy one either unless it was dirt cheap.

    Of the 3 the TX would get my money but I'd probably get the 520W HX tbh.

    The corsairs come with 6+2 pins so you can choose 6 pin or 8 pins

    Not gigabytes biggest fan so of the two boards I'd get the Asus PRO.

    The antec 300 is nice enough if you are on a budget. Good cooling and it will be put together well enough but nothing special.

    Re: Which PSU to get...?

    i would say the asus just because i find their boards to be the best... i have a coolermaster psu and its actually really good, quiet etc... but out of your selection i would go for the corsair as these seems to be some of the best psu's around

    Re: Which PSU to get...?

    Proud owner of the Antec Three Hundred and Corsair TX650.

    The Antec Three Hundred is a basic a case can get, it's unexciting but has great cooling, perfect since it sits under my desk most the time. It's very well built and easy to work with.

    So far the Corsair TX650 hasn't given me any problems, it's been running non-stop for a month without any stability issues with two HD 4850s and a Q6600 while GPU and SMP folding.

    I use a Corsair 650Watts. Completely incident free. Excellent bit of kit.

    I don't know if saving a few pounds influences your decision but I noticed that the Corsair HX 520W and 620W models are both on scans Today only page. Making them an even more irresistible choice.

    Today only

    Thanks for the heads up but I won't be ordering from scan =p I'm from the Netherlands and I'll be ordering at a dutch site, hence I'm getting a discount there which would save me a bit more ;d

    Thanks to all the other replies, I'm pretty sure going for the Corsair TX 650W I guess.
    Seems also the Asus P5Q Pro is winning ^^
