    good mp3 player?

Totally forgot about this secton(got a thread in bargins bit) but basicly im looking for an mp3, the one that caught my eye was the creative zen stone which is £15 but i would like a screen on it so that leaves me with the plus but i cant find it anywhere cheap enough(all around £30) which is much more than i was going to spend, basicly i have a budget of £20 and would prefer it to be sold at a store so i can replace it easy enough. So if someone know where i could buy the plus at around £20(not dixions as its £5 del). And any recommendations for an mp3 player?

    Heres what im looking for:
    1. Small, much like the creative zen stone
    2. Good battery life
    3. Small Screen
    4. Around £20
    5. Good quality in terms of sound etc(obviously not like iriver etc).
    6. Key Lock(not a must but would be a great advantage)

    Thanks for your help.

PS: i couldnt post in the audio part of hexus as i kept getting an allocation error so feel free to move it there.

    http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product....+with+FM+Radio

I got one of these a while back and so long as its a version 1 (mine was from Bigpockets, others appear to be as well from the reviews) you can put Rockbox on it. Rockbox includes loads of games, loads more options for your music, and can even play Mpeg2 videos, though this isn't great on the smallish screen TBH.

Downsides are postage is £4.49 and 3 months warranty since it's bankrupt stock (mines still working great though ).

Sadly it doesnt, it simply has Zen inscribed on it. I made this mistake on the one at comet for £15(2gb version), might settle for it but i would of loved a screen on it .

The sandisk looks good but it looks to big for what im looking for, ive already got a sumvision mp4 player(4gb) and its still going strong after 2 years and dropped alot, simply need something that is very small to just listern to music.

Thanks for the advice again guys.

    Re: good mp3 player?

All depends if you can live with a cheap one, personally I can and got myself a 1gb Nissan/Base from scan when it was on sale for £20
These things are no ipod, as much as I dislike the ipod for it's designer technology, it's wheel control thingy is very good and functional. But for me that cost is way too high.

So I got a cheap one, it does what I want, plays audio files, and I've even compressed a couple of tv shows down to watch them, although a 128x128 resolution is not really much good for video files.
That said my friend has one of the small ipod whatevers that can play video, yes the resolution is higher, but he says he never bothers with it as the screen size is just too small to watch stuff on.

The sound quality is fine for me, it's small and light, built in battery (need to plug it into a pc via usb to charge.) but it's got a decent battery life.

    Down sides:
Worst head phones EVER oned of the first things I did was replace the ones that came with it.
Plug sizes, both the head phones (smaller than normal headphone jack) and the usb cabe have small less common connectors. I got an adaptor for standard headphone jacks (as I couldn't find decent headphones with the small jack) and I'm very carefull not to lose the usb cable as I've no idea where to get a replacement.
Fastforward/rewind, this effects me as I lissen to a lot of audio books and accedently skipping to the next track when I ment to change the volume is a real git as the ff/rw speed is about x10 so if I need to get back to the place I was at when 20min into a track I have to hold the button down for 2min, and it can be very easy to skip forward dureing thoes 2min

So if I've not put you off a cheap mp3/4 player yet
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132922# £16+delivery+new headphones and possible adaptor.
I got my adaptor off ebay for a quid and some decent headphones for £12 (Sennheiser CX300)

Must admit I love my little Base mp3 player, it does what I need it to, use it nearly everyday while commuting

    SCAN[/URL]]A multitude of colors
Bask in the splendor of the multi-color LED screen where you can glimpse the MP3 player's charging status and playback status clearly.

hmm, well afaik only the creative zone plus has an OLED screen, the normal one could have LED but its not a proper display e.g. doesnt show tracks etc. Although £20 for 1gb is a bit high tbh, any of you know a place that price matches against dixions online? they have it for £22+ £5 delivery(SCAM ) but if i could match it against pcworld etc it would be better.
