About LinkBacksWhy does the NF7-S have one of these, I thought they where for P4's only
The manual doesn't say much about it either, only thats its designed for P4 capable PSU's. However whenever I plug the lead into it my comp no longer boots.

Should boot up, provides extra 12V rail support which is used for the CPU, to reduce fluctuations.
Should boot?? Mine doesnt for some reason, take it back out and its all hunky dory again. Go me
Its most likely your PSU cannot provide the intial burst to keep all components happy. Either way, if your not seeing large fluctuations on your CPU rails, I wouldnt worry about it.
The bios and MDM5 are both reading my +12V as 10.7 and my system is far from stable these days, although that could be my ram

That's more likely PSU related.
What PSU is it ? (please dont say Q-tec)

hehe, my Q-tech 550 has better rails than my Antec 480
Are those readings taken from the molex's with a multimeter or just through the motherboard though buff? The NF7-S for instance reads the rails slighty low when compared with the true molex measurement.
Well, turns out it was a dud cable. +12V has increased ot a more healthy 11.7 now too.
Willy: that was through the bios, gonna double check with a multimeter later if i can hold of one.
