    Definitely the PSU?

Well a few months ago I posted a thread about PC not turning on at various times and now it won't turn on at all.

Its a Hiper 600watt thingy can't remember exactly. Pc spec should be there to the left.

Before it would run fine but say upon a restart it would turnoff and just not come on, then refusing to come on for upto a couple of hours, now will not start at all.

It has a separate switch on the PSU to turn this on or off and this lights up as it should whenturned on and MoBo light comes on as it should but nothing at all happens when presssing the power button on front.

Just want some confirmation its the PSU, if so suggestions from Scan for a replacement would be welcome.

Sorry for any spelling or stupid mistakes, typing from an Iphone aint the easiest!
    Cheers

Needs new monitor / speakers / headphones / keyboard.
Before that i need money :s

Sounds like it could be the PSU, nothing is for certain though. If I were you I would get the Corsair VX450 from scan; more than enough for your system.

    Re: Definitely the PSU?

Take the PSU out, put as many fans on the molex connectors as possible to use as a load, then jump the green and nextdoor black wires to turn it on. Measure the voltages with a multimeter - the ATX spec says the only allowed ranges are...

    3.3v: 3.14v to 3.47v
    5v: 4.75v to 5.25v
    12v: 11.4v to 12.6v

yea, does sound like the psu and i second the corsair psu too. Any chance you can borrow one from somewhere just to double check? Before spending money.

    Re: Definitely the PSU?

http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=801620 would be my choice. does sound like psu is the problem but i second if you can get hold of a spare psu to check could save you a whole bunch of money. sorry just looked at you computer spec and this psu maybe a bit overkill but if you are thinking of upgrading the rest of you system in the near future would probably still be a good choice. Otherwise i agree with the others corsair psu is a good one.
