Hi all,
So now intel has dropped prices 40% as Hexus says. How much will the new price of the Q9550 be for us consumers who will be buying one? I think I may upgrade my Q6600 :D

I am almost positive the q9550 drops to q9450 prices
They are about for pre order now on some etailors..
Scan have it for £223.12.
Yes, the Q9550 drops to $316 which was the Q9450 price IIRC. I think I read somewhere that the Q9450 is being replaced by a Q9400 at $266 (aka Q9300 money, not quite sure where that leaves the Q9300 price wise)?
Edit: Hexus article back up, no new price for Q9300 so presumably that means it's being dropped.
So I guess the question is... is it actually worth upgrading a Q6600 for one of these? Is putting on a 25% overclock going to be trivial?
Difficult but unless your desperate to change I wouldnt bother. i7 isnt that far away so personally I am saving my pennies for that rather than cahnging my Q6600.
Do you reckon £223 is as low as it will go on Scan for now, or will it drop further once Scan have run down their stock of Q9450s?
I'm waiting for it to reach £~195
