    IS this any good?

Well im looking for a freeview thing as i have a standard box with no remote so needs replacing, is this one any good?
http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=17877 only want to spend around £15 for one, doesnt really need an ariel because i plan on fitting a roof one, needs to be compatable with vista 64bit though and be pretty reliable.

    Thanks.
edit: lol didnt notice this was a USB device, are they still bad?

dont know about that make but if i was you i would go for a well known brand in this area like pinnacle, hauppauge, leadtek etc...
    or what about this:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=366867
that at least says media center compatible
saying that tho the one you've looked at could be good
    just have a quick google...

sounds good, think scan need to change their description for it xD. ; enjoy the latest high definition TV shows. that sounds like its that freesat or what ever so i guess they made a mistake because freeview isnt HD as far as i know.
WIll wait for more opinions though cos im in no rush till the end of the week .

    Re: IS this any good?

If you were in an HD freeview area (don't know if the closed trial in London is still going) then *any* PC freeview card could potentially receive the HD programs. You just need the correct codec to display the picture.

Can't see my old Hauppauge 909 PCI card on Scan any more, so can't give any recommendation.

I do have one of the Hauppauge USB sticks somewhere, and the reception was pretty awful on it even with a roof aerial plugged in. Not sure what that is about, some of the dual tuner cards are really a USB interface and a pair of USB tuners on a PCI card and yet they don't get complaints about sensitivity. Perhaps I was unlucky with it.
