New PC Build Linecheck

Hi all,

I've decided it's about time to replace my current PC and have been doing some research as to what I should get. It's been a while since I built my last one, but here's what I'm thinking about so far.

I am looking mainly for value for money, so any and all suggestions would be appreciated. For example, the case I am unsure of, it is pretty expensive for just a case (£90). I shall probably look to OC the CPU to 3.0GHz, nothing too extreme.

I will mainly be using it to game on (1650 res, although I will be dual monitoring) and maybe scientific/mathematical programs at some point. Also any recommendations for PCI wireless cards would be nice too, I seem to get recurrent ping spikes with my USB one.

lol looks like my exact recommendation. If you want to save money on the case go for the Coolermaster CM-690 and this is a great wireless card http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=457260.

The case uses the same cable management principle, is fairly well built and nice and quiet. The P182 does the well built and quiet things better the CM690 will cool slightly better.

Looks pretty spot on to me matey, the 520W Corsair will be fine. If you can afford the extra £££ I'd suggest a HD4870 as it'll last longer but apart from that, very nice spec.

Wireless card wise I'm running an Abit AirPace to save PCI slots and so far it's been perfect:

- Abit AirPace PCI-Express ~ £10.21

The HD4870 will last a bit longer but at 1680 x 1050 i'd say you're fine with the HD4850 for a long time in this game.

Whoa didn't realise they were so much more expensive, you don't get £60 worth of a perfomance boost at 1680x1050 so yeah I take that back, HD4850 FTW.
