    Which mobo chipset for HTPC

    Hey guys,

After my brother killed his computer I lost the parts for my HTPC so I've decided its time to build a new one from scratch. I want to do HD output at 1080p but want to keep it as cool as possible and as energy efficient as possible(so no separate graphics card)

I`ve been looking at the AMD 790 chip set and the interl G45 chipset. Cant seem to find much in the way of comparision of the both.

Basically I want to know which is gonna be the best for a HTPC wont be gaming on this only using for watching bluray films and some internet usage on the big screen tv.

    Cheers

780G is the cheapest and best option imo. 790 doesn't bring anything too exciting to warranty the price.

    Paired with something like that

you will have all the power you need for an HTPC.

Friend of mine who builds lots of HTPC's highly rates the:

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Socket 775 onboard VGA 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139780

Decent onboard graphics, hdmi out, which carries sound (apparently the converters dont).

Dont have any experience with this board myself.

If you were to go for an nvidia based board you will be better off with the nvidia 8200 based boards. Newer and more useful features.
