    Question Blu-Ray DVD ROM

    Hello all,

I'm thinking of getting a Blu-Ray DVD ROM for my PC.
But I do not know much about them, well not enough to make a noise about.

I hae seen the LG GGW-H20L Blu-ray Rewriter that looks nice enough.

Can anyone suggest any other model, or give me some advice on Blu-Ray has I hear that sony are changing the format to 2.0???

    Re: Blu-Ray DVD ROM

BluRay 2.0 is probably a reference to the BD-profiles. For a PC or PS3 user, you shouldn't need to worry about it too much as software updates will add that functionality. The format of the disc isn't changing, just some features that the format supports (stuff like picture-in-picture).

I have the drive you mention, it does its job, not sure what else to say about it lol. I've both played and ripped HD-DVDs and BluRays in it, plus burnt a few BD-RWs and DVD-Rs. Not overly noisy.

I doubt you will find many people that have had the chance to compare many of the bluray drives yet but if you want HD-DVD support as well, there isn't much other choice.
