Abit IP35 Pro and other bits
Decided on an Abit IP35 Pro to use for video editing coupled with Intel Q6600. Question one is am I better off using 4 x 1MB or 2 x 2MB memory modules PC6400, not convinced PC8500 worth the expense.?Question 2 will I benefit from Vista 32 or 64 bit or can I happily stick with XP?
Cheers
Re: Abit IP35 Pro and other bits
2 x 2GB should have slightly lower power demands.
Re: Abit IP35 Pro and other bits
I've just bought the same board with an E8500 (mainly using for games)
I was advised that unless you're planning to go for extreme overclocking the 6400 ram is plenty good enough.
Re: Abit IP35 Pro and other bits
2 x 2GB PC6400 for sure.
And a major benefit of Vista over XP is its ability to handle above 3GB RAM which would certainly come in handy when video editing. It's up to you at the end of the day, but if you do decide to go Vista make sure it's a 64bit version.
