Re: Advice needed for my new system!

Haha it's okay I know the excitement of a new build.

My processor is overclocked all the time, ill run a test after this post to test stock clock temps.

As for the Case, its really not the best. I had pretty sliced up fingers , lots of sharp edges inside! the case has a few blood stains inside lol - (too much info?) The ventilation is seems good although i have nothing to compare it too really as my previous pc's were Compaq's etc.

I'm going to get an akasa zen (scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=723916) very soon it seems like a nice quality case. I think its best to not to skimp on the case and maybe pay the little extra for a branded one.

I wouldn't bother with the Zen. The antec 300 at £35 makes more sense

Re: Advice needed for my new system!

Well quality wise it will be slightly better, obviously at that price it's still nothing special but it does house a lot more fans so it will run a lot cooler

Re: Advice needed for my new system!

I was also considering akasa zen or coolermaster 330. But mike directed me to a bundle deal which looks good. Is the Antec NSK6580B inferior to the Antec 300?
However I might get a 2nd hand case from my mate. He couldn't name the case but said that he bought it for around 80quid 1 or 2 years back and happy to sell it to me for 20. Will make the final decision after I check out his case.

Re: Advice needed for my new system!

NSK6580B is a nice case. The 300 has better cooling, but the 6580 does house twin 92mm fans in the front which allows for some decent air flow when paired to the 120mm at the rear.

If you can afford the better motherboard etc.. with a corsair 450/550W VX and the 300 then that is the way to go. But the 6580 isn't going to let you down.

Check out the antec sonata III as well. Should be £70/£80. Quite small but nice and quiet with two 120mm fans for cooling. Comes with a 500W earthwatts psu

Thanks again for the recommendations. Missed this case (just like the WD hdd) when making the shortlist. Looks very nice..
Is earthwatts psu made by seasonic? Shame that the warranty when bought in a bundle is 1 year which is otherwise 3years.
