The best 775 boad out is?

Ok i have a full system and have just RMA'd a faulty ASUS Rampage extreme. i am getting the money back so am wondering.... is that the best board?

I have bought DDR3 ram and a nice quad core Q9450.

He will be overclocking and this is mainly for gaming. it will be water cooled CPU.

    Thanks fellas

What about the DFI X48's? Should be an overclockers wet dream.

Well there isn't really much choice for DDR3. The Asus P5Q deluxe, the X48 in it;s various flavours or the 790i which will probably be nothing but trouble.

Re: The best 775 boad out is?

I'd say for a game with money, dont bother with P45 boards... I'd have liked the Rampage on a 'money-no-object' build so...

nVidia build boards are apparently appauling quality in comparison to others, so people only tend to get these if they just have to have SLi.

If your going for ATI however, ASUS Rampage are generally top of the tree, DFI do soley gamers boards that can overclock but not many people on here talk about/ have them so I couldn't pass on any recommendations.

Re: The best 775 boad out is?

Asus Rampage extreme gets me excited... although with x58 boards around the corner and core i7... you may want to wait. but if you cant be patient, the rampage extreme is a must buy. Beware of cpu coolers as some dont fit this board if using air cooling. hopes this helps.

p.s i cant be patient im just about to order the extreme...

Re: The best 775 boad out is?

The DFIs are great boards if you like playing around with loads of settings. Personally I could never justify spending double the cost of a P45 board unless I were using phase and really wanted the most I could screw out of the board..... I think even the DK versions of the DFIs are hitting 600+FSB now though....

The ASUS P45 range is meant to be excellent for overclocking the 45nms, and the northbridge runs cooler with less voltage. Top end model is the P5Q3 Deluxe
