you tried to manually change the cas settings to see if this is affecting the booting of the motherboard ? If a higher cas/ras setting works then the only thing I can suggest is that you check the asus website for a bios update as this can sometimes rectify issues with memory.
Other than that I suggest you go to www.memtest386.com and burn the ISO onto a disc and test the memory thoroughly. If this test shows any errors at all, contact your supplier for a RMA number and get the memory exchanged.
FWIW - I have an Abit NF7-S and the 3200 pro works fine on this at turbo settings but I did have to get 2 sets as the first was a bit "flaky"
Hope this info helps.
i have tried the mobo update before but no joy!what do i do with cas?
oic... well my psu is sposed to be pretty good.its quite quiet too!i think it might be a 360w not 350 cause thats what it says on the sticker.lol!
If you check the bios, the memory timings in there can be manually set. if it says cas 2 - try adjusting it to 3 and try booting with that setting. I know this is not the best scenario but it is a test to see if memory is a bit weird. Other than that I can only recommend that you increase the vcore for the memory on the board and see if this helps with the issue as wellOriginally Posted by cm_uk
It does sound like the PSU could be the issue as I did have a el cheapo enermax clone case with the window and a UV light with a noisy as hell 350w PSU and only when I got the 550w CWT did the system stay stable and allow me to have uptimes over 3 weeks
all the best in fixing the problem m8 - I know how you feel

k i will try that tonite.btw my ram will be cas 2 tho...but the problem is that when i do a cold boot it starts up goes thru the boot screen then the loading screen and flickers back and forth twice i think and then hangs on the loading screen even tho the loading has all the bars flilled on it!i have tried leaving it but no joy.also it actually freezes cause you cant turn it off.lol
the cold boot nonsense if its what i think it is, is when you turn on your pc and loads and gets to certain and then stops, then that is whats happening to me as we speak, its bs but i think is my rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe ram not being able to cope with the demands of my barton 2500+ overclocked to 3200+...so in about 3 weeks i'll be getting myself a single 512mb pc3200 stick of ocz ram, should fix that problemo, but i've seen 64bit ram over on http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk, does 64 bit ram REALLY exist?? if it does then thats BS...
nope it cant be my ram cause it aint cheap.but i will run memtest on it tonite tho...if its the ram then ill get it rmaed.
